Around this time of year (or even the beginning of October in some stores) there are aisles and aisles of chocolates, biscuits and goodies, all being promoted as being perfect gifts for teachers. Now, I know that teachers love to receive a little present at Christmas and it’s lovely to be able to show our appreciation for all of their hard work, but so many parents ask what the correct thing to buy is.
So, I’m here to tell you that, firstly, teachers absolutely don’t expect a gift at any time of the year. I always felt extremely humbled when a parent chose to give me a gift at Christmas time, and often the most thoughtful gift was one made by the child. Over the years I received some utterly delicious homemade biscuits, a wonderful hand decorated mug and a handmade card with the most beautiful poem written in it by a lovely Year 6 boy. It is really lovely to receive them and teachers love to receive anything, from a thoughtful handmade card to a plant chosen by your child, or a lovely box of chocolates. If you are looking for something a little different, I’ve searched high and low to bring you some ideas of perfect gifts for teachers!
Perfect Gifts For Teachers
If you fancy giving something that will really appeal to the teacher, then this great pen from BIC might be the perfect present! At only £3.99, this pen not only will save time with not having to hunt out different coloured pens for marking, but was also designed by a child! BIC ran the Design and Shine competition for anyone over 13 to design a new barrel for a BIC pen, and the winner was 13 year old Evie Sherrie with her bright and colourful design featuring a host of fun creatures! This is a limited design though, so if you think that the teacher in your child’s life would love this pen, definitely get ordering soon before they all run out.
If your child’s teacher is a bit of a foodie, then this subscription might be the perfect gift for them. Previous ones have included Spanish paella, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Thai Coconut Soup amongst others! This is a brilliant idea that will keep on giving as each pack not only includes the spices but a menu card along with a shopping list of ingredients, so they can go back to it again and again! From only £27 for a 3 month subscription, The Spice Pioneer will sort out the foodies in your life!

Even better, your child can get involved with you and add their own touches with a personal front page just from them. The Book Of Everyone is so much fun to receive but it’s just as much fun to create! From only £23.95 for a soft back book, this is absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on the teacher’s face!
