Living Arrows is a lovely photo series hosted by Donna over at What The Redhead Said which is all about celebrating childhood. As the poet Khalil Gibran wrote:
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”
I love the idea of this as I’m finding that their childhood is so much more fleeting than I had imagined, so this lovely series will encourage me to take a snap of those fleeing moments, and hold onto them just a little while longer!
This weekend, we headed over to Belton House, a stunning National Trust Property not that far from our new house in Lincolnshire. We were all delighted to find one of largest adventure playgrounds around! The kids got stuck in really quickly and had such a great time. I love this photo of Little Sir – it shows such complete joy and happiness at being out and about and loving life. I can’t help but smile when I see it!
My second photo is of Little Miss playing the drums outside. What a fantastic idea to create musical instruments out of pieces of wood! She had such a fantastic time banging them as hard as she could. We even managed to get a little learning out of it by talking about the names of the drums. She was amazed to find that I learnt to play the drums when I was a teenager – I don’t think that she could believe me when I told her this – in her eyes I’ve never done anything that exciting! Bless her!
